On the 13th of October 2020 takes place the online event ‘’Business Continuity – Planning for the Future in the Midst of a Pandemic’’ organized by Euro-IX, with the representation of Angela Stanescu for InterLAN. During the event the Euro-IX members discuss the impact Covid-19 had on IXP operations. This was invaluable and gave many IXPs insight into what was coming and how to tackle particular challenges that came along.

2020-10-08 - Let’s Talk, Let’s Act – Inclusivity: Women in Networking

Let’s talk, Let’s Act is a Euro-IX initiative to talk and act on current issues in the industry. The event takes place on October 8, 2020, with the participation of Angela Stănescu on behalf of InterLAN Internet Exchange. The purpose of the series of panels is to inspire and motivate to make positive changes, which will bring or continuous growth and sustainability to the industry.

2020-10-06 - Beyond Peering

InterLAN represented by Angela Stanescu attended the event ‘’Beyond Peering’’, organized by AfPIF and Internet Society, held on October 6^th 2020.

During the panel led by LINX, the session presented the evolution of IXPs from pure peering locations to much more of a universal interconnection point. The session also collaborated with Hurricane Electric and Epsilon to provide further insight into the evolving world of Peering including a live technical demo of the new IX API software.

2020-07-15 - InterLAN Internet Exchange hosts a speedtest.net server!

Speedtest.net is a global network of servers designed to test the speed of Internet connections. Millions of tests are performed daily on different servers provided by third party operators – internet service providers, hosting providers etc. Starting with July 15, InterLAN Internet Exchange provides a Speedtest server located in Bucharest, with a 10 Gbps connection. Users who want to test the connectivity with InterLAN Internet Exchange platform can select the InterLAN server from the list of available servers on www.speedtest.net. If the InterLAN server does not appear on the list, it can be searched and selected manually.

2020-07-14 - NTP public server – a new service available in InterLAN Internet Exchange starting with 10 July

The time servers read the real time from a reference clock and distribute the information further through computer networks, which can be local or public. The protocol used to distribute and synchronize time on the Internet is called NTP (Network Time Protocol). Starting with 10 July InterLAN hosts an NTP public server, available on both IPv4 and IPv6 internet addresses.
