2025-10-11 - InterLAN-IX deploys a new M-Root DNS root server instance in Romania

InterLAN-IX is proud to announce the deployment of a new M-Root DNS root server instance — one of the 13 critical infrastructures powering the global Domain Name System (DNS).

Operated by WIDE Project in collaboration with Japan Registry Services (JPRS), this installation is the second M-Root instance in Europe, strengthening Romania’s position as a strategic hub in the global Internet architecture.

With this deployment, InterLAN-IX now hosts six of the world’s DNS root server instances — D-Root, E-Root, F-Root, K-Root, L-Root, and M-Root — contributing to the stability, security, and resilience of the global Internet.

This milestone reflects InterLAN-IX’s ongoing commitment to reinforcing Internet infrastructure and supporting digital innovation and growth across the region.
